About MIE 2027

MIE 2027 is one of the key European conferences in the field of medical and health informatics, bringing together researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, policymakers, industry representatives, students, and young professionals. The conference is organised by the Estonian Medical Informatics Association (EstMIA) in close cooperation with the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), Tallinn University of Technology, the University of Tartu, Estonian hospitals, and partners from the medical and health informatics sector.

The theme of MIE 2027 is:

Empowering people with trusted, sustainable, and connected health data for active and healthy longevity.

The conference will focus on trusted AI, health data spaces, interoperability, digital public health, patient-centred care, workforce innovation, and the role of health data in security, defence, and societal resilience.

The event will be held at Kultuurikatel – Tallinn Creative Hub, a distinctive conference venue located near Tallinn Old Town and the harbour area.

MIE 2027 welcomes original research, case studies, implementation experiences, methodological contributions, workshops, panels, tutorials, demonstrations, and innovative solutions in medical and health informatics. Accepted full papers, short communications, and posters will be published open access in the IOS Press series Studies in Health Technology and Informatics and indexed in MEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, and EMCare.
